Chris Anton

Chris Anton
Portfolio Manager

With over 20 years of experience in finance, Chris is responsible for the management of both individual and non-profit organizations’ portfolios as well as the operations and growth of the Boise office. Prior to joining ClearRock, Chris was Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of The College of Idaho. Chris was previously Executive Vice President and CFO of MCMS, Inc., a publicly-traded global electronic manufacturing services company.

A Boise native, Chris has served on the boards of The Canyon County/Caldwell Economic Development Council, The Basque Museum and Cultural Center, and the Bogus Basin Recreational Association. He has also been an active board member for College Liability Insurance Company.

Chris earned a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Idaho (Cum Laude) and an MBA from Columbia University.


Lonnie Dorn

Lonnie Dorn
Portfolio Manager

Lonnie brings over 14 years of experience in the financial services industry focusing on investment management and financial planning strategies. Prior to joining ClearRock, he worked for a private Bay Area investment advisory firm focused on portfolio management and started his career with  Dean Witter in 1994. He holds a B.B.A. in Finance from Boise State University and earned his M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.

 


Mark Eshman

Mark Eshman
Co-founder, Chairman and Chief Investment Officer

Mark brings nearly 30 years of experience in the financial services industry to the firm. In addition to managing client relationships with the highest levels of service, Mark oversees the core investment strategies of the firm.

In 2000, Mark opened a branch office for Smith Barney in Sun Valley, Idaho where he managed portfolios for private families, non-profit organizations, trusts, estates, and retirement plans. He consistently ranked among the most productive advisers in the firm.

In 1990, he joined Dabney/Resnick/Wagner, a boutique broker/dealer, where he was a partner responsible for private clients. In 1981, Mark joined the Beverly Hills, California office of Drexel Burnham Lambert where he became a Vice President and shareholder.

He has served on non-profit boards for over 25 years, and currently serves as a Commissioner for the Ketchum Urban Renewal Agency.

He received an A.B. in Public Policy from Duke University, and studied Economics and Art History at the University of London.


James Everitt

James Everitt
Co-founder, President and Chief Compliance Officer

James has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. He oversees the firm's investment advisory services, and manages the team of investment and relationship management professionals.

In 1994, James was recruited from San Francisco, CA to become branch manager of the A.G. Edwards' Sun Valley office where, over the span of 12 years, he built it into one of the region's most productive offices.

James has a distinguished, non-profit board experience and currently serves on the boards of both the Wood River YMCA, and Sawtooth United Football Club.

He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from St. Lawrence University.


Renee Faltings

Renee Faltings
Portfolio Manager

Renee brings more than eleven years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining ClearRock, Renee was Assistant Vice President in Merrill Lynch’s Bend, Oregon branch. Renee provides in-depth wealth preservation and retirement income strategies to individuals and families. She also works with non-profit organizations helping them maintain and grow their financial base.

An Oregon native, Renee has served on the boards of 3E Strategies and the Sisters Folk Festival. She currently volunteers with Sun Valley Adaptive Sports Program both in their Special Olympics program and Higher Ground program.

Renee earned a Bachelor of Science in Business and Speech Communications from Portland State University.


Lorraine Fox

Lorraine Fox
Portfolio Manager

Prior to joining ClearRock, Fox was Managing Director and a member of the Investment Committee at a private Bay area-based investment advisory firm where her clients included individuals, non-profits, and corporations. Her deep experience over the past 25 years in the Silicon Valley private equity and asset management community also includes positions as an equity analyst at Credit Suisse, a consultant to Pequot Ventures, and a General Partner at Crescendo Ventures.

Lorraine received her B.A from Stanford University and earned her MBA (Dean’s Honor List) from University of Chicago. She lives in Palo Alto and is an alumni mentor to Graduate School of Business and undergraduate students at Stanford.


Jack Gilligan

Jack Gilligan
Research Analyst

Jack is responsible for firmwide trading and investments in the ClearRock Capital Models. Additionally, Jack is involved in all aspects of the ClearRock research process, including portfolio optimization and analytics of the ClearRock models. Prior to joining the firm, Jack consulted as a Financial Analyst for a Midwest energy distribution company, where he focused on M&A, due diligence, and capital raising. From 2000 to 2005, he worked in Equities Sales & Trading at Goldman Sachs & Co. in Chicago.

In June 2011, Jack successfully passed Level II of the CFA examination and is a Level III candidate in the CFA Program.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colgate University and was captain of the Varsity Swimming Team.  Jack studied abroad in London, UK.


Peter Hustis

Peter Hustis
Business Development Associate

Peter’s primary responsibility is delivering a superior client experience. This includes the smooth implementation of the ClearRock TouchPoints, a high-touch low-friction process encompassing new account/client on-boarding, client communication, organizing and scheduling meetings, and troubleshooting problems. Peter also prepares quarterly reports, coordinates client online access and all account documentation.

Prior to joining ClearRock, Peter was Regional Sales Director for Columbia Management in Boston. His professional investment industry experience began at Fidelity Investments where he worked as both a service trader and as an investment consultant for individual investors.

Peter’s non-profit experience includes volunteering at Operation HOPE’s youth financial education program.

He received his BA from University of New Hampshire and was a member of their Alpine Ski Team.


Lisa Pepin
Director of Client Relations

Lisa's primary responsibility is delivering a superior client experience. This includes the smooth implementation of the ClearRock TouchPoints, a high-touch low-friction process encompassing new account/client on-boarding, client communication, organizing and scheduling meetings, and client troubleshooting. Lisa also prepares quarterly reports, coordinates client online access and all account documentation.

Prior to joining the ClearRock team, Lisa held various client service positions in San Francisco for Reuters America, Mellon Capital Management and Chase Manhattan Private Bank.

Lisa’s non-profit experience includes volunteering with Outdoors Unlimited as a Wilderness First Aid Instructor and Rafting Guide.

She received her BA from University of Minnesota and her MBA from University of San Francisco.


Melanie Murphy
Business Development Associate

Melanie is a recent Stanford graduate with many talents. She played point guard on the Women’s basketball team where she made four Final Four appearances. While in college, she handled media and appearances for Candice Wiggins, a standout WNBA player and former Stanford star. Melanie developed her passion for investing while in middle school in Brooklyn.  She will focus on expanding ClearRock’s opportunities in the Palo Alto area.

Her non-profit work includes Until There’s a Cure, Greater Than (Kaiser Family Foundation), and CAAF (Children Affected by AIDS Foundation). She also has coached AAU basketball in her spare time.

She graduated Stanford with a combined BA/MA in communications.


Sarah Shivers

Sarah Shivers
Operations Manager

In addition to providing our clients with outstanding and responsive service, Sarah is responsible for employee benefits, accounts payable, bookkeeping, technology and telecommunications, and overall office management.

She serves as Treasurer of the Board at The Hunger Coalition.

Sarah earned a BA in Business Administration from Wake Forest University. 


David Wright

Research Associate

David’s role includes analyzing daily macroeconomic data, the construction and optimization of our Model Portfolios, as well as developing the research data for ClearRock’s weekly Investment Committee meeting.

Prior to joining ClearRock David was a Senior Associate at Marakon, a CRA International Company where he lead a team of consultants in various
